Hello, and welcome to the official NCBA.gg DarkRP Rules.

You will find out how role play works on |-NCBA-| in the sections below.

We expect both staff and players to adhere to these rules accordingly.

(1) General Rules
(1.0) Information
In this section, you will see the foundation of what our rules are built on. These rules are very important and should be carefully read through as our Staff heavily enforce this section of the rules.

(1.1) Basic Rules
  1. Violating any rules listed throughout this rule-set is FailRP.
  2. A player must have a legitimate roleplay reason to cause harm in roleplay to another player.
    • Info: An exception would be if you/others consent to being damaged/killed in/out of roleplay.
      • More Info: If you have "deathmatches," keep them away from active areas. If staff believe it's causing harm to the server's environment, they may ask you to move or stop completely.
  3. If NLR (New Life Rule) is not otherwise specified, you must wait 2 minutes before returning to the area in which you died.
    • Info: You may not interact with anyone involved in your previous death during this time.
      • This term is used as a cool down after players die In Character. New Life Rule forces a player to start fresh and forget who killed them in their past role play life. When under NLR rules, you must NOT interact In Character with the person who killed you, as well as their party members. You may return to the area you've died as long as you don't Advert actions, or start In Character conflict with others. You may resume normal role play activities in the area after 2-minutes since death.
  4. Metagame is strictly prohibited.
    • Info: Sharing or using information you did not obtain in character, in your current life, is a common example of Metagame.
      • This term is used when a player uses information IC (In Character) given to them OOC (Out Of Character) to gain an advantage over others.
  5. You may not role-play in spawn this is a non-role play zone.
    • Info: Spawn is a re-spawn, spawning, and away from keyboard zone.
  6. If you have a problem related to role-play, attempt to solve the issue responsibly in role-play.
    • Info: Staff are here to help you if you can't figure out something by yourself.
  7. You are not allowed to advertise links, websites, communities, and etc without our permission.
    • Info: If you wish to advertise on our server, please contact Larry.
  8. If you wish to go away from keyboard[AFK] on our server, please type "/afk" in chat.
    • Info: We kick players that are AFK as role-play jobs. If you would not like to be kicked for being AFK then join the AFK job.
      • An exception is if you're a job that has job-related entities, and if you switch from it, they'll disappear. However, this doesn't mean you can go AFK for 30 minutes to an hour as that job.
  9. You may not enter our event area without permission from a staff member.
    • Info: If the event area door is open then please contact a staff member so they can close it. Opening the event area door without a staff members permission is FailRP.

      • However, a Trash Talker may be racist but is not allowed to use racial slurs.

    • Info: Failure to listen to a staff member and taking a case as not serious may result in a punishment.

  3. You are allowed to ask a Staff member to leave your base.
    • Info: On-duty Staff are required to leave your base if asked to do so, unless they have reason to continue searching. Staff who are the rank of Administrator and higher are allowed to search bases without cause.

(3) General Conduct for Props, Tools, & Entities

(3.0) Information

We expect all players to use the props and tools within the game fairly. The props and tools we have on our server can easily be abused if you are not careful. If you're using props & tools in such a way that it's ruining another player's role play, you're already breaking our rules. We recommend checking with Staff that what you're building is okay to build and is approved by our rules.

(3.1) Prop Use
  1. Any form of "mingery" with props isn't tolerated.
    • Info: You may mess around with props as long as you are not in public, and all who witness are okay with it. However, you must still follow our rules while doing so.
  2. You are not allowed to prop climb.
    • Info: Prop climbing is when a player uses props to unrealistically climb buildings, walls, etc. An exception is adding realistic-looking supports to hold your "stairs" or "walkway" up to your base.
  3. You may not use props/entities to push others
(3.4) Entities
  1. You may only spawn or place entities on the property you are permitted to build on.
  2. Entities may be destroyed or stolen at any time, with no /advert or warning necessary.
    • Info: The only exception to this rule is entities inside a base. You must raid the base to destroy or steal these entities. Players seen destroying or stealing your entities may be killed by you or your party member (provided they witnessed it) without warning.

(4) Crime Rules

In this section of the rules, you will find out how to use our /advert system, what our cooldowns are, and how to properly commit a crime without breaking our rules. (6) Government Rules

(6.0) Information

Government Jobs are some of the most enjoyable to role play as. However, every single act made by the government must be completely serious. This section will provide some guidelines on how to have fun with Government Jobs while taking them seriously.

(6.1) General Rules
  1. As a member of the Government, your priority should always be to arrest players breaking the law, instead of killing them outright.
  2. You may not use your weapons, handcuffs, fine list, weapon checker, nor batons without a legitimate, role play reason.
    • Info: You should also never use these items listed above on another member of the Government.
  3. Government jobs have an NLR time of one minute and thirty seconds.
    • Info: This does not apply during police raids, bank raids, nor raids on the PD building.
  4. You may not release prisoners unless you are the chief of police or the arresting officer.
    • Info: You may take bribes and release prisoners that you arrested.
      • If a player claims to be randomly arrested the Police Chief or the Mayor should call the police officer in question to the police station so they can come to a decision on whether or not the player was randomly arrested. If a player feels that it was a random arrest and the government decides otherwise then they can call staff.
  5. You must have probable cause before weapon checking citizens
    • Info: Having a text screen in the pd building saying anyone who enters will be weapon checked or hearing gunfire within a reasonable distance from an area and searching people within the area.
(6.2) Government Abilities
  1. You may base in the PD building, but any structures built must abide by the regular building rules.
    • Info: Unless your particular job states differently, you may only base in the PD building.
  2. All Government Members should have equal access to any keypad codes.
  3. You may spawn and protect role-play entities in the PD building, but only if they are legal to have.
  4. Government Jobs may kill/arrest any player passed the first door of the PD building and arrest players for holding out weapons/raiding tools inside of the PD.
    • Info: During a player raid on the PD building, you may kill anyone inside the PD building.
  5. You may raid player bases if you know there to be illegal items and/or a fugitive inside.
    • Info: You must have probable cause to warrant and raid a base.
      • More Info: Directly seeing a crime/fugitive/contraband inside the base is the only sufficient method of attaining probable cause.
(6.3) Law Enforcement
  1. As a member of the Government, you have the responsibility to enforce the current laws (you can check them using !laws).
    • Info: You may not fine/arrest/kill for anything that is currently legal.
  2. You may not enforce laws subjectively. If you see a crime being committed, you should do everything you can to apprehend those responsible.
  3. You may not participate in illegal activities yourself, but you can take bribes to "look the other way".
(6.4) Government Authority
  1. The Mayor is allowed to change the status of the laws, as well as add new ones.
    • Info: Any laws the Mayor creates should be fair, enforceable, and not encourage minge.
  2. The Mayor may call for a lockdown during times of great chaos.
    • Info: The Mayor must have a legitimate reason to do so and the lockdowns may only last up to five minutes. The lockdown cooldown is ten minutes.
    • Info: Anyone wandering the streets after a reasonable amount of time can be arrested on site.
  3. Government Members must always listen to directions given by their superiors.
  4. The government may enforce all illegal laws when there is no Mayor.
(6.5) FearRP
  1. Fear role-play is used when Government jobs interact violently with non-government jobs.
    • Info: As a Government job, if civilians attempt to attack you on purpose, you may kill/arrest them. You may not defend civilians/non-party members using FearRP.
  2. As a civilian, if a player role-playing as a Government job attempts to shoot, taze, or arrest you, you may kill them. You may not defend non-party members using FearRP.
